INTERVIEW with Ancient Species

1.Since you are at your first interview on this site, why don't you tell our readers when and how you started your journey in the underground world?

1) We officially started at the beginning of 2020 in the current pandemic as a project that we evolved to be what Ancient Specie is now.

2. What genres and bands is the group influenced by?

2) The bands that we got influenced are Death, Belphegor, Transmetal, Signs of the swarm, Brand of Sacrifice, the genres are Black, death and Deathcore

3. I know it might not be easy to do, but could you comment on your latest work?

3) Our latest work was our single that came out “Aether” and it had such an amazing response from everyone. Funny story when we were making our video anything that could’ve gone wrong happened jaja we couldn’t hear the playback, there was no monitors onstage, our drummer forgot his snare drum and he had to run out to the street and ask all the street bands for someone to let him borrow there snare for awhile and finally someone did. It was a brutal day but awesome. At the end of the day the video was a success and we want to give a shout-out to Dragon Rojo in Tijuana for letting us record there. Thanks guys!

4.The underground metal scene is undoubtedly inflated by many groups, so (often) it is necessary to present compositions that stand out in the chaos of the various musical scenes. Do you think your songs have something more to say or different from what has already been said in the crowded metal world?

We think the combination of genre’s and all of our different musical influences are bringing a new sound to the metal world. A lot of people keep commenting the same so it’s not just us who believe this

5.What do you think of the national underground scene?

The national underground metal scene here has some really brutal bands but unfortunately there isn’t a lot of support. Everyone just wants to support the big bands but we are trying to change that and would like to get more underground bands involved

6. The career of a musical group (however short it may be) is always studded with more or less positive events. What would you like to erase and what will you always remember from your group experience, from the very beginning until now?

To remember always will be our debut show, there was a lot of people, a lot of moshing, a lot of support from the public for us. To forget we would say would be this one show where all the bands started late and we were closing the show but because everyone was late we only got stuck playing 2 songs instead of our full set

7. How do you judge the Internet vehicle for promoting the music scene?

Internet, social media, DSP’s are all essential for any band nowadays. If your not on it you won’t grow as a band Usually about 2-3 cd’s a month. Always have to add more to the collection and show support for all bands

8.Since we are talking about it .... how many original CDs do you buy each month? And how many do you listen to? We try to support the local metal scene as much as we can! I can't tell you the exact number, but we try to be as much present in the scene by supporting the other band of our scene.

9.What does your group want to do when they grow up? Keep making more music, record more albums, touring and meet all our fans worldwide. Would like to leave a legacy in the metal world

10.Okay, guys! The space at our disposal is about to run out, but I want to give you carte blanche for the last message. The word is yours, you are free to express yourselves! Check us out on all our social media pages, our official video for “Aether” is out now and available on all platforms. Our second single “March of the slaves” will be out July 23rd on all platforms. We’ll also be performing at the Dragon Rojo Metal Fest in Tijuana this year with a lot of amazing bands so we invite everyone to come on down and we’ll see you in the pit!
